Passing Through arrived almost fully formed. The kind of song that does not feel written so much as discovered — as if it had been waiting somewhere and the band finally found the right room to play it in.
This is the band-only version. The live version — with Mariann Voss's oboe there from the first note, recorded after she wandered into the wrong rehearsal room during the Unspoken Tour — is on Live & Unspoken Vol. II. The studio version on the Passing Through EP stays band-only too, without her. Three versions of the same song, each one finding something different in it.
